About Media Landscaping

I've been posting to this site for almost 5 months now and just realized that I am still missing an "About Page."  A very important part of the culture of blogging is transparency and I have been rather opaque so far.  So here goes.

I am Jeff Burkett and I work at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, where I run the Sales Development team.  My group is not a part of Sales, Editorial or even the Technology group.  We see ourselves as the glue that pulls all of it together in order to best monetize our online publishing business.   We develop and manage all ad products, work on BIG IDEAS for ad campaigns, coordinate with editorial as best as possible and spend a lot of time monitoring what is going on in the media world.

Media Landscaping is a log of our opinions on news and events that effect the changing media landscape, with an occasional rant or two thrown in.  I do most of the posting, but the whole team has access to publish anytime they have something to say.

One key point is that this blog is only our personal opinions and not the product of WPNI.  WPNI is very open to its employees having a voice in the blogosphere, but does ask that I say the following:

The opinions and comments found in this blog are entirely personal and do not represent the views of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive or any other Washington Post Company affiliate.

If you want to contact me, feel free to send an email to jeff dot burkett at wpni dot com or just leave a comment.
