This could be one of the dumbest moves I have seen a media company make in a while. Well, I guess the dumbest thing since NBC forced YouTube to pull its content from their site.
An article in WSJ reports on a new deal between the two companies
“in which NBC will buy ads on YouTube while the site will post clips of coming NBC shows provided by the network.”
HELLO…NBC had all of this for free before the old geezers in leather high back chairs had the lawyers send nasty letters to have the content pulled! Now they are going to pay for placement by picking up some ads? This is ridiculous.
I am surprised that YouTube would even do this. I thought that the true beauty of their site is that users decide what should be popular, not who advertises on the site.
